Gila Mamo was born and raised in Tiberias, to Tunisian parents from the city of Tatawin in Tunisia.
She spent her entire childhood standing on a chair in the kitchen near her mother Dajaria, learning her secrets and techniques.
Gila fell in love with cooking and with the Tunisian delicacies, and started developing the recipe for her famous Tunisian Couscous dish at home.
The word was quick to spread about the fabulous dish, and once Gila got married and moved to Beersheba, her clientele has expanded to the point where she decided, together with her sons, to open a restaurant that’ll serve her produce all week round.
Today, the restaurant is where the residents of Beersheba will go for homely, original Tunisian food with great tastes.
People from all over the country come to explore the Tunisian kitchen and enjoy Gila’s talented cooking.
On Fridays there is a buffet of take away food, which will help you set a Tunisian food loaded table at your place without putting any effort into it.
